Motorola Iden Unlock Using Nextgen Server
Compatibility and supported versions
The client software only works on Windows 2000/XP.
ROM 9 and ROM 13 versions are now supported by the server
To check the ROM Version:

Cables used for remote unlocking
One can use
original iDen USB cable supplied with the phone.
Alternatively
Motorola V60
P2K USB cable can be modified to fit iDen/Nextel phones. For this, simply remove
the black lug in-between the pins.
Driver Installation and Setup
Download and install the latest client software, this will put a copy of the drivers on
your PC.
Important!!!
Shut down any antivirus software running on your PC. It must be SHUT DOWN, not
disabled (see your AV supplier documentation on how to do it) while using the client.
To install the drivers go to
Start > All Programs > JIC Technology > Install Iden Drivers
If there is any complication these drivers can also be downloaded from the
official website.
- Turn on your iDEN phone and connect to PC with the USB cable
- A New Hardware wizard will appear
- Select "No, not this time" and click "Next"
- On the next screen select
"Install the software automatically" and proceed to the next step by clicking
"Next"
- When prompted with a Windows Logo testing dialogue select "Continue
Anyway"
- Drivers are now installed
- Next update drivers by running
Start > All Programs > JIC Technology > Fix Iden Drivers

Important!!!
Shut down any antivirus software running on your PC. It must be SHUT DOWN, not
disabled (see your AV supplier documentation on how to do it) while using the client.
If you are using Microsoft Active Sync or Active Sync make sure they are is shut down
as well or the client won't be able to communicate with the phone.
Important!!!
Do not desconnect the phone before unlocking process is finished.
If you experienced an error don't disconnect the phone and keep trying. Otherwise the credit may be lost.
- Please read the whole tutorial before proceeding.
- Make sure that phone's battery is fully charged. Otherwise unlocking may fail that will result in a lost credit.
- Remove the SIM card from the phone.
- Ensure the phone is properly connected to the PC.
If you get a CHG error when unlocking, try holding cable into phone when unlocking.
- Launch client software and enter Username/Password
- Make sure "Main Server" is set under Server Settings
- Select "Iden" under Phone Setting
- Ensure phone is powered on with SIM card out and connected to PC via USB cable.
- Press "Unlock Moto Iden" on client software.
- In 2-3 seconds phone will be unlocked. Phone will reboot after unlock.
- If at any time during the unlocking process you experienced an error, please take a screenshot (Prnt Scrn) and send it to us.
Note, with Motorola iDen i485 and i870 you have to enter the code each time
you reboot the handset.
Troubleshooting
If you get " Oops ! CHG error ! " or similar
- DO NOT DISCONNECT the phone and try to read the codes again.
- Check if SIM card and memory card are removed
- Decrease COM port's baud rate to: 115200
Phone Menu > Settings > Advanced > Baud Rate
- You might need to try several times
- Upgrade your phone's firmware to the latest version.

It is very important to follow all of the above steps in the event of CHG error !!!
If you get " Corrupt Data "
- Perform Master Reset (remember to change your pass code/security code in the
instructions below if you have changed them).
How to perform Master Reset on the following iDen phones

- Enter * # 43 (Your phone will prompt Master Reset )
- Select OK once (Your phone will prompt Passcode )
- Your passcode is 0000 (Your phone will prompt Master Reset )
- Enter security code as 000000 and Press OK
- Select Yes for Master Reset
- Select OK for caution: see manual
- The phone will auto power off
- Switch on the phone again

- Enter security code as 000000 and Press OK

Before you start
- Make sure you have the latest client version
- Make sure you have Treo HTTC drivers downloaded and extracted to a folder on your PC.
They can also be found by going to
C:\Program Files\JIC Technology\JIC Online Server\httc-treo-driver
Reading Codes
- Run client, enter your username and password
- Select "Main Server" in "Server Settings"
- In phone settings select "iDen" and check off "i930" box
- Connect USB cable as supplied with the phone
- Press both soft keys and power up. The phone will enter Boot Mode
If Windows now detects a new device (this happens the first time you put iDen into the
Test Mode):
- A New Hardware wizard will appear
- Select "No, not this time" and click "Next"
- On the next screen select a lower option
"Install from a list or specific location" and proceed to the next step by clicking
"Next"
- Browse to the folder containing Treo HTTC drivers
C:\Program Files\JIC Technology\JIC Online Server\httc-treo-driver
- When prompted with a Windows Logo testing dialogue select "Continue
Anyway"
- Drivers are now installed
- Click "Unlock Moto iDen" in the client, codes will be displayed in under 5 seconds
- Codes are also saved in the log file located in
C:\Program Files\JIC Technology\JIC Online Server
Entering Codes
- Remove battery from your i930 and unplug the cable
- Insert incorrect SIM card (card that is not accepted by the phone)
- Power on your iDen phone. At the message "Sim Not Allowed" press "OK"
- Using stylus pen enter the unlock code exactly as it appears in the client software
- Your cell phone will reset and display "Sim Lock Removed"
- Your Motorola iDen i930 phone is now unlocked
